Piotr Schmidt presents Komeda’s Songs Without Words – a compelling reinterpretation of the music of Krzysztof Komeda, where iconic themes are transformed into contemporary, purely instrumental jazz narratives.
The album was recorded live, preserving the organic energy and immediacy of performance. It features an outstanding international line-up: Piotr Schmidt (trumpet), Grzech Piotrowski (saxophones), Mino Cinelu (percussion), Paweł Tomaszewski (piano), Michał Barański (double bass) and Sebastian Kuchczyński (drums). A key figure for international audiences is Mino Cinelu – a world-class percussionist known for his collaborations with Miles Davis, Weather Report and Herbie Hancock. His distinctive sound and global recognition create a strong artistic bridge for European listeners and position the album within an international jazz context.
Released in Poland in February 2026 by SJRecords (SJRecords 090), the album is distributed in Germany by O-Tone Music, opening this project to the broader European market.
With this recording, Piotr Schmidt confirms his position as one of the leading voices of contemporary Polish jazz, having once again been named Trumpeter of the Year 2025 in Poland.
Six-Page Digipack made in Poland.
