09.06.2026

Polish trumpeter, composer, and producer Piotr Schmidt will release his new album, “Komeda’s Songs Without Words” on August 14, 2026, via O-Tone Music / EdelKultur.
With this project, one of the leading figures of contemporary Polish jazz pays tribute to the musical work of Krzysztof Komeda, reinterpreting his iconic compositions in a modern, purely instrumental jazz context.
With “Komeda’s Songs Without Words,” the Polish trumpeter presents a fascinating reinterpretation of Krzysztof Komeda’s music. The legendary composer’s iconic themes are transformed into modern, purely instrumental jazz narratives. The album was recorded live, thus preserving the special energy and immediacy of the performance.
The top-tier international lineup includes Piotr Schmidt (trumpet), Grzech Piotrowski (saxophone), Mino Cinelu (percussion), Paweł Tomaszewski (piano), Michał Barański (double bass), and Sebastian Kuchczyński (drums). Of particular note is Mino Cinelu, known for his collaborations with Miles Davis, Weather Report, and Herbie Hancock.

The album was released in Poland in February 2026 via SJRecords and underscores Piotr Schmidt’s status as one of the leading voices of contemporary Polish jazz. In 2025, he was once again voted “Trumpeter of the Year” in Poland.
