Malika Tirolien’s concert with the Bundesjazzorchester and Bundesjugendorchester now available online

Malika Tirolien’s extraordinary concert with the German National Youth Orchestra and the German National Jazz Orchestra is now available on the Berlin Philharmonic’s Digital Concert Hall.

For this special project, the German National Youth Orchestra joined forces with the German National Jazz Orchestra and, under the baton of Jonathan Stockhammer, presented an impressive program spanning jazz, classical, and contemporary music.
A special highlight of the concert was the performance by Montreal-based singer, composer, and producer Malika Tirolien. As a special guest, she presented her “Grow Suite” in a version arranged specifically for orchestra by Stefan Behrisch. Blending Caribbean musical culture, soul, hip-hop, and jazz, a powerful musical dialogue emerged about growth, community, and creative freedom.
This concert not only brought together two of Germany’s most renowned emerging ensembles, but also built a musical bridge across generations, genres, and cultures.
