“Collisione Mondiale” by Hans Lüdemann & the TransEuropeExpress nominated for the German Jazz Award 2024!

Hans Lüdemann’s TransEuropeExpress octet of French and German musicians set out in 2019 to explore the border regions of Europe with the project “On The Edges”. After the first album, which focused on North Africa, the second was released in November 2023 with a focus on Scandinavia. The third part of the series now takes the listener to Italy. Recorded in Rome, the album focuses on the melodic elements and the accessible Mediterranean flair of Italian jazz. Guests include the “Grande Dame” of Italian jazz Rita Marcotulli and the virtuoso accordionist Luciano Biondini.

We are very pleased to announce that the piece “Collisione Mondiale” from the album “On The Edges 3” has now been nominated for the German Jazz Award in the category “Composition/Arrangement of the Year”. Congratulations!

On April 18, 2024, the jury at the E-Werk in Cologne will decide who will receive one of the 22 German Jazz Awards – we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
