Adam Bałdych Quartett mit: Daniele di Bonaventura / Helge Lien / Michel Benita
The new quartet by Adam Bałdych – one of the most original violinists on the global jazz scene – brings together outstanding instrumentalists from European jazz for a contemplative journey through the musical heritage of the old continent. It is a musical narrative that you could listen to endlessly. For this new project, Bałdych has invited three exceptional artists: Italian bandoneonist Daniele di Bonaventura, Norwegian pianist Helge Lien, and French double bassist Michel Benita.
“Endless” is the title of the album planned for 2026 by the four instrumentalists from the improvisation scene, whose work has helped shape the image of contemporary jazz (release date: 2026 via Imaginary Music).
Each of them brings a colorful musical world with them, creating a beautiful tapestry of sound in dialogue—music you could listen to endlessly. Bałdych draws inspiration from Renaissance polyphony and the rhythmic movement of contemporary classical music, without ever losing his jazz-typical spirit of irrepressibility and joy of discovery. The coming together of the new quartet produces music that is rooted in silence yet full of contrasts – quiet soundscapes alternate with emotional tension, virtuoso improvisations and experiments form a modern narrative style. This is music that not only tells a story, but also listens – to the space, the story, and each other…
