If you take a look at the history of jazz and consider which style is not of Afro-American origin, then there is probably only one answer: Gypsy-Swing. Diknu Schneeberger and before him his father Joschi cultivate this tradition with heart and soul.

This is the 5th album of Diknu Schneeberger and it marks a new milestone in his career: It is the NEW Diknu Schneeberger Trio with two fellow musicians of the same age. These are actually live recordings, BUT in the Corona crisis, so a stream without an audience – like a live radio studio situation!

It’s a nice combination of clear sound and fresh and sassy playing / improvising! Almost all tracks are compositions of the bandleader. Only one song by Django Reinhardt made it into the program: Nuages! The master’s “footprints” seem to be overpowering, but Diknu knows perfectly well not to fall into the epigone-like “copy/paste” mode. Swing de Vienne at its best!
