Martin Tingvall new Solo Album “Bagatellen” 2027

Following the successful release of the Tingvall Trio album ‘PAX’ (release date: 20 July 2025, SKIP Records), the Swedish pianist is planning a solo project for 2027: Martin Tingvall, winner of multiple ECHO Jazz awards, will release a new solo piano album entitled ‘Bagatellen’ in early 2027. Recording for his new solo project is scheduled for autumn 2026.

The Swedish musician, internationally known through the Tingvall Trio, is deliberately turning to reduction in this project. Bagatellen stands for musical clarity, in which simple melodies gain expressiveness through their focus on the essentials. Tingvall plays exclusively solo piano and reduces his compositions to what is necessary to create depth and atmosphere.

In an age characterised by acceleration and complexity, the album sees itself as a calm counterpoint. The minimalist piano motifs create spaces for concentration and silence and invite listeners to reflect on the value of reduction – both musically and socially.
