Martin Listabarth’s new album “In Her Footsteps” (February 27, 2026) and nomination for the Austrian Jazz Award 2025

Martin Listabarth is an excellent musical storyteller whose compositions are inspired by travels, encounters, and special moments. He was recently nominated for the Austrian Jazz Award 2025 in the category ‘Best Newcomer’ His upcoming trio album, In Her Footsteps, will be released on February 27, 2026, via o-tone music/Edel Kultur.

His compositions are inspired by landscapes and cities, people and personal encounters. “In Her Footsteps” is a personal journey into the life of Ida Pfeiffer, a Viennese explorer who, against all odds, set out alone in the 19th century to see the world. Inspired by her travelogues, Listabarth composed pieces about key moments in her story, creating a musical arc.

Through intensive live performances and four albums under his own name (Short Stories, Dedicated, Postcards, Live in Vienna), Martin Listabarth has earned a reputation as an independent voice in Austrian jazz with a strong artistic vision.
