The estonian jazz singer and composer Kadri Voorand is set to release her new album “Songs to Hold You” (o-tone music/EdelKultur) on 8 May 2026, in collaboration with bassist Mihkel Mälgand; the album comprises a total of 14 tracks with a running time of 1 hour and 5 minutes.
With “Songs to Hold You”, Kadri Voorand opens a new chapter in her music – moving away from the bold, expansive sound for which she is known, towards a sound based on intimacy, warmth and presence. The album reflects Kadri’s search for an emotionally charged sound and freer improvisation – more open, warmer and more deeply rooted in her Estonian background. It combines new original compositions with selected cover versions, all sung through the same prism: simple stories and “songs from the heart”, guided more by emotion than by form. Voorand uses her voice as an instrument, shaping melody and rhythm with an emotional sensitivity that captivates listeners. Each concert unfolds as a shared experience – moving, spontaneous and captivating.
