This coming Friday, 6 February 2026, jazz pianist Martin Listabarth will release the second single, ‘Red Island’ (o-tone music/EdelKultur), from his upcoming album ‘In Her Footsteps’ (release date: 27 February 2026, o-tone music/EdelKultur).

“Red Island” takes us to Madagascar – named for its vivid, iron-rich soils – on Ida Pfeiffer’s final great journey. Amid stunning landscapes and hidden dangers, she faces political unrest and falls ill, yet pushes forward. The music mirrors this adventure: a driving groove, an intense piano solo, and a melody that slowly fades – echoing Ida’s fading strength and relentless courage.
